Das Château Les Carmes-Haut-Brion ist ein einzigartiges Juwel in Bordeaux und ein Symbol für die Appellation Pessac-Léognan. Während das Anwesen Les Carmes Haut Brion historisch gesehen ausserhalb der Mauern lag, befindet sich das Château heute innerhalb der Stadtmauern. Das Weingut erstreckt sich über ein wunderschönes Terroir von 30 Hektar Weinbergen, das an Haut-Brion angrenzt. Die Weinberge sind zu 55 % mit Merlot und zu 30 % mit Cabernet Franc bepflanzt, wobei auch Cabernet Sauvignon hinzukommt. Sein Terroir, das aufgrund der Nähe zur Stadt Bordeaux recht warm ist, besteht aus filtrierendem rotem Kies und Lehm auf einem kalkhaltigen Sockel. Die Weine von Les Carmes Haut-Brion sind elegant, strukturiert und komplex, mit schönen blumigen Nuancen, und eignen sich zur Lagerung.

Couleur sombre, intense et belle. Nez très aromatique, fruité, pur, accompagné du subtil parfum du Pessac-Léognan. Ultra minutieux en entrée de bouche, très raffiné au milieu, avec son éclat inénarrable, le vin évolue puissant et suave en même temps. Puis le corps fond, juteux, noble, profond, dans une grande finale où reviennent des notes complexes de fumée, de framboise. C'est superbe !
